This trek offers an awe-inspiring blend of unique contrasts, including the majestic Annapurna and Chulu ranges and the spectacular Tilicho Lake.

Starting with an overland drive from Kathmandu, you'll journey through the low warmer valleys of Nepal’s mid-west. The trek follows the Marysangdi River upstream, transitioning from lush, subtropical landscapes into cooler alpine zones adorned with serene woodlands of rhododendron, oak, and pine, and passing through picturesque country farm villages.

As you progress, you'll explore the rich Buddhist culture of the Manang villages, nestled amidst stunning scenery with Annapurna to the south and the Chulus to the north. The trek leads you to the heart of Manang Valley, where you'll have opportunities for exploration and acclimatization.

From Manang, the trek deviates from the Annapurna Circuit’s main route to venture into the hidden beauty of Tilicho Lake. Here, you’ll marvel at the emerald-colored lake surrounded by high peaks, an unforgettable sight that makes the detour truly worthwhile.

The adventure continues with a challenging crossing of the Thorong La Pass (5,416 meters), the highest point of the trek, offering panoramic views of the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges. Descending into the Mustang region, you'll visit the sacred site of Muktinath, home to a revered Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu.

The trek concludes in Jomsom, a vibrant town on the old Trans-Himalayan Caravan and Salt Trade route. From Jomsom, a scenic flight brings you to Pokhara, a picturesque city renowned for its natural beauty, including lakes and majestic mountain views.

1Day 01-Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Upon arriving at Kathmandu International Airport, you'll be warmly greeted by the Nepal High Point staff and guide. Following your reception, you'll be transferred to your hotel located in the heart of Kathmandu. After refreshing yourself in your room, you'll join a group briefing where the guides will provide detailed information about your stay in Nepal. This briefing will cover essential details about the trek, including local lodges, hotels, cultural insights, and other important information to ensure you are well-prepared for your adventure.

2Day 02-Free day in Kathmandu trek preparation with an optional tour around world heritage sites.

In Kathmandu, you'll have a free day to prepare for the Tilicho Lake and Annapurna Semi Circuit Trekking. This day is perfect for optional sightseeing around the city, which is steeped in history and culture. Kathmandu Valley boasts several UNESCO World Heritage Sites and significant religious and historical landmarks. You might explore Kathmandu Durbar Square, with its medieval palaces and temples, or visit Pashupatinath Temple, a sacred Hindu site on the banks of the Bagmati River. The Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest stupas in Nepal, offers a vibrant atmosphere with numerous Tibetan monasteries, while Swayambhunath Stupa (Monkey Temple) provides panoramic views of the valley. This free day allows you to acclimate, complete any last-minute preparations, and immerse yourself in the rich cultural heritage of Kathmandu before starting your trekking adventure.

3Day 03-Drive to Dharapani1, 860 m- 07 hrs.

In the morning, embark on a long and scenic overland journey from Kathmandu to the mid-western region of Nepal, traveling through the Lamjung district towards the Manang areas. The drive takes you to Syange, situated along the banks of the Marsyangdi River. From Syange, a climb of a few hours brings you to the charming village of Jagat, where you'll make a refreshing stop. Afterward, continue the drive along a gradual winding trail, enjoying superb views of the Annapurna and Manaslu mountain ranges. The journey concludes at Dharapani village, where you'll settle in for the night.

4Day 04-Trek to Chame 2,670 m - 05 hrs.

In the morning, set off on a winding path through lush rhododendron and pine forests, passing the villages of Bagachap and Danque. The trail then leads to the Tamang village, where you'll begin to experience the rich Buddhist culture of the region. As you continue, you'll be treated to views of the majestic Mt. Manaslu (8,163 meters). After Tamang village, a few hours of walking bring you to Koto, followed by an arrival at Chame town for an overnight stay. Chame, the administrative headquarters of the Manang area, is a large and vibrant town where you'll rest for the night.

5Day 05-Trek to Pisang 3, 230 m - 05 hrs.

The adventure continues as you head into cooler elevations, drawing closer to the towering mountains. The trek takes you through lush alpine forests of rhododendron and pine trees, following the Marsyangdi River upstream. The path features a series of gentle ascents and descents, leading you to the quaint Bhratang village. From Bhratang, the trail ascends through verdant pine woodlands, offering stunning views of the Chulus and Pisang peaks. After a lunch break, the route descends to the lower Pisang village for an overnight stop, where you can relax and enjoy the scenic surroundings.

6Day 06-Trek to Manang Village 3,450 m - 05 hrs.

The morning trek from Pisang village takes you through towering pines and rhododendron forests, with a series of short uphill sections revealing spectacular views of Annapurna II and III, Gangapurna, and the Chulus and Pisang peaks. As you continue, the trail leads you to the village of Hongdae, where the lush vegetation gives way to a barren, arctic landscape characterized by its cold, dry climate. Before reaching Manang, make a visit to the ancient Braga Monastery, home to valuable Buddhist relics. From there, it’s just an hour’s walk to Manang village, where traditional Tibetan-style houses and a rich cultural heritage await.

7Day 07-Rest day at Manang for local hike and acclimatization.

A crucial rest day in Manang is essential for acclimatization before continuing to higher altitudes. Take this opportunity to explore the village, nestled beneath the towering Annapurna and Gangapurna mountain ranges. Wander around Manang to appreciate its traditional Tibetan architecture and local culture. You might also visit the nearby Manang Glacial Lake, which offers stunning views and a serene environment. This day of rest will help your body adjust to the altitude and prepare you for the trek ahead.

8Day 08-Trek to Khangsar 3,734m - 04 hrs.

From Manang, our journey veers off the main Annapurna Circuit trail, taking us into the remote and rugged wilderness towards Tilicho Lake. The trek begins by leaving the well-trodden paths and heading south, passing through Manang village before diverging towards Khangsar. This village is the last settlement in the Manang region before we continue our ascent towards Tilicho Lake and the Mesokanto-La pass. Khangsar offers a serene stopover, providing a glimpse into the secluded mountain lifestyle as we prepare to venture further into the high Himalayan terrain.

9Day 09-Trek to Tilicho Base Camp 4,150 m / 13,615 ft- 04 hrs.

After a peaceful overnight stay in Khangsar, we set off in the morning for an invigorating climb up a hill, offering stunning views of Gangapurna and Tilicho Peaks. As we continue our trek, we enter the stark and dramatic wilderness characterized by arid, barren landscapes, with only sparse juniper bushes and prickly Burberry plants breaking the desolate scenery. The narrow trail winds with several short climbs and ascents, ultimately leading us to our destination for the night—Tilicho Base Camp. Here, we are greeted by a breathtaking panorama of snow-clad peaks, and the afternoon is yours to soak in the stunning vistas and dramatic landscapes surrounding the base camp.

10Day 10-Trek to Tilicho Lake 4,920m / 16,141 ft walk back to Siri-Kharka 4,000 m - 05 hrs.

In the morning, we embark on a rewarding trek that brings us to the highlight of our adventure. After a brief but steep climb, we descend to the shores of the stunning turquoise Tilicho Lake, a breathtakingly beautiful spot encircled by the towering peaks of Tilicho and Gangapurna Himal. The lake, revered as a sacred site by both Hindus and Buddhists, offers an awe-inspiring experience with its vibrant emerald waters set against a dramatic mountain backdrop. After enjoying this glorious scenery, we continue our trek in the afternoon, ascending slightly before following a more gradual path to our overnight stop at Siri-Kharka, a small, isolated settlement. This marks the end of a truly remarkable day, filled with unforgettable views and a profound sense of accomplishment.

11Day 11-Trek to Yak Kharka 4,110 m - 06 hrs.

After completing our exploration around Tilicho Lake, we start our morning trek with an ascent towards Khangsar village. From there, we follow a relatively level trail that takes us to Yak Kharka, a high-altitude pasture known for its yak grazing. The journey offers spectacular views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III, and the Chulu Peaks. Upon reaching Yak Kharka, we settle into a comfortable lodge for the night, where the serene surroundings and impressive mountain vistas provide a fitting end to our day.

12Day 12-Trek to Thorang High Camp 4,600 m - 04 hrs.

In the morning, we embark on our adventure towards higher altitudes, starting with a climb along the riverbank that brings us to Thorang Phedi, the base of the Thorang-la Pass. From here, we tackle a steep ascent that leads us to Thorang High Camp, where we will spend the night. This camp, positioned at a higher elevation, offers a crucial rest before our crossing of the Thorang-la Pass, providing stunning views and a chance to acclimate to the altitude.

13Day 13-Cross Thorang-La Pass 5,416 m walk to Muktinath 3,800 - 06 hrs.

Today marks the main highlight of our adventure. After an early breakfast, we embark on a steep climb to reach the high point of our trek at Thorang-la Pass, situated at 5,416 meters. Here, we are rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of snow-capped peaks, which makes the challenging ascent worthwhile. After savoring the moment at this remarkable altitude, we descend on a long, downhill trail towards Muktinath, located at 3,800 meters. Muktinath is a sacred site for both Hindus and Buddhists, with its name meaning "the place for Nirvana or Liberation." We will spend the night in Muktinath, soaking in the spiritual atmosphere of this revered destination.

14Day 14-From MDay 15: Trek from Tatopani to Ghorepani. uktinath drive to Tatopani

After our time in Muktinath, where our trekking journey concludes as the area is now accessible by motorable roads, we transfer to Tatopani. From Tatopani, we continue our trek towards Ghorepani.

15Day 15-Hike poonhill 3,210 m and trek to Birethanti then drive to Pokhara.

Today, we start with a hike to Poon Hill to witness the stunning sunrise over the Himalayas. After soaking in the breathtaking views, we continue our trek to Birethanti, the endpoint of our walk. From Birethanti, we drive to Pokhara and check into our hotel for an overnight stay.

16Day 16-Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

After an early breakfast, we embark on an interesting drive back to Kathmandu. Whether by tourist coach or private vehicle, the journey takes us through picturesque farm villages and towns. We’ll follow the Trisuli River past Mugling Bazaar and then wind our way uphill into the Kathmandu Valley, where we’ll return to your respective hotels. Alternatively, you can opt for a 30-minute flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu for a quicker return.

17Day 17-Depart Nepal for international flight home-ward bound.

On your last day in the enchanting land of the Himalayas, we’ll bid farewell to the incredible adventure you’ve experienced on the Nar-Phu and Annapurna Semi Circuit trek, all thanks to the exceptional service of Nepal High-Point Trekking. Our staff will transfer you from your hotel to Kathmandu International Airport according to your flight schedule, ensuring you have a smooth departure for your homeward journey or onward travels to other destinations.
