Tharpu Chuli, also known as Tent Peak, is a renowned and adventurous trekking peak located in the Nepali Himalayas, centrally positioned within the popular Annapurna Sanctuary trek. This climb provides stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayas, including Annapurna and Hiunchuli, and offers an incredible perspective of the entire Annapurna range. The journey begins in Kathmandu and proceeds to Naya Pul near Pokhara, a picturesque 'Lake City'. From there, the trek leads to the base camp of Mt. Machapuchhre, adding to the allure of the Tharpu Chuli climb. Situated in the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheater surrounded by majestic Himalayan peaks, Tharpu Chuli provides a unique vantage point. The sanctuary is accessible only from the south through the Modi Khola River Valley, with Annapurna South (7291m) dominating the western flank. The climb involves a challenging descent onto a glacier through rugged terrain, reaching the advance camp at approximately 4500 meters, just on the snowline. Despite the difficulty, the climb rewards adventurers with breathtaking views of the Annapurna massif. From the summit, climbers can enjoy an impressive panorama including Huinchuli (6331m/20,771 ft), Annapurna South (7219m/23,684 ft), Fang (7,653m/25,089 ft), Gangapurna (7,455m/24,459 ft), Annapurna III (7555m/24,790 ft), Machhapuchhre (6,993m/22,943 ft), and Singu Chuli or Fluted Peak (6,487m/21,329 ft).

1Day 01-Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to respective hotels

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, one of our representatives will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. After settling in, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with the other members of your group during an orientation session. This will be followed by a briefing about the upcoming adventure and a welcome dinner featuring authentic Nepali cuisine, giving you a taste of the local culture and hospitality.

2Day 02-Kathmandu sightseeing and prepare for the trek.

On your free day in Kathmandu, you'll start with a half-day guided tour of the city's renowned World Heritage sites. The tour will include a visit to Pashupatinath, a significant Hindu temple complex, and Bouddhanath, where you can explore the vast and iconic Buddhist stupa. In the afternoon, you'll have free time to engage in personal activities, prepare for the trek and climb, or simply relax and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of Kathmandu.

3Day 03-Fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara 820m/25 minute and drive to Nayapul 1070m/2 hours and trek to Tikhedunga 1540m/4-5hours:

We will begin our journey early in the morning with a flight to Pokhara, offering breathtaking views of the Nepalese Himalayas throughout the journey. Upon arriving in the picturesque city of Pokhara, we'll embark on a scenic drive to Nayapul. From Nayapul, we’ll start our trek to Tikhedhunga. The trek features a lush landscape and charming small wooden houses that enhance the trek's scenic beauty. We will spend the night at a lodge in Tikhedhunga and use this time to rest and prepare for the next day's adventures.

4Day 04-Walk from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani 2860m/6-7hours:

The trek begins early in the morning after breakfast, which may be enjoyed along the way if needed. We’ll walk through Ulleri and continue towards Banthanti, passing through enchanting forested areas of rhododendron. Along the route, we’ll encounter small streams and waterfalls, adding to the trek’s charm. Following the path along the Bhurungdi River, we will eventually reach Ghorepani. We will spend the night at a lodge in Ghorepani, where you can relax and prepare for the next day's adventures.

5Day 05-Hike to Poon Hill 3193m/1 hour and trek from Ghorepani to Tadapani 2630m/6-7hours:

We will start our day before sunrise with an early morning trek to Poon Hill to witness some of the most spectacular mountain views. From this vantage point, you'll be able to admire the stunning Annapurna massif, along with prominent peaks such as Dhaulagiri (8167m), Nilgiri (7061m), Gangapurna (7454m), and Machhapuchhre (6997m). After soaking in the breathtaking scenery, we will continue our trek towards Tadapani. We’ll stay overnight at a lodge in Tadapani, where you can unwind and prepare for the next day’s journey.

6Day 06-Trek from Tadapani to Chhomrong 2170m/5-6hours,

Today’s trail is relatively easy and takes us through picturesque Gurung and Magar villages, allowing us to experience their unique culture and traditions. We will cross the Kimrong River and navigate the Chhomrong Pass before reaching our destination, Chhomrong. From Chhomrong, we’ll be treated to stunning views of the surrounding mountains, which provide a breathtaking backdrop to the village. We will spend the night in Chhomrong, enjoying the serene beauty of the area and preparing for the next stage of our journey.

7Day 07-Trek from Chhomrong to Dovan 2600m/5-6hours,

Our day begins with the fresh air of oak, bamboo, and rhododendron forests. We’ll trek through the village of Sinuwa and continue towards the more barren area near the Annapurna Glacier, all the while savoring the stunning Himalayan scenery. Following the Modi River, we will reach Dovan. We’ll spend the night at a lodge in Dovan, where you can relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings after a rewarding day of trekking. Our day begins with the fresh air of oak, bamboo, and rhododendron forests. We’ll trek through the village of Sinuwa and continue towards the more barren area near the Annapurna Glacier, all the while savoring the stunning Himalayan scenery. Following the Modi River, we will reach Dovan. We’ll spend the night at a lodge in Dovan, where you can relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings after a rewarding day of trekking.

8Day 08-Trek from Dovan to Machhapuchhre Base Camp 3700m/5-6hours,

Today’s trek begins on a relatively easy path, offering magnificent views of Machhapuchhre (6997m) and its neighboring peaks. As we progress, the trail becomes more rugged and rocky. We will navigate a steady climb, passing the Hinko Cave before reaching Machhapuchhre Base Camp. Here, you’ll be surrounded by stunning mountain vistas. We’ll spend the night at Machhapuchhre Base Camp, enjoying the spectacular views and preparing for the ascent ahead.

9Day 09-Trek from MBC to Annapurna Base Camp 4130m/2hours and back to MBC 3700m/1hour,

The day begins with the first rays of sunlight casting a beautiful orange and red glow on the mountains. We will navigate mostly on snow as we make our way to the base camp at 4,130 meters. From here, you'll be treated to a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the surrounding peaks, including the Annapurna massif, Hiunchuli (6441m), Machhapuchhre (6997m), and others. After spending some time soaking in the stunning views, we’ll return to Machhapuchhre Base Camp for the night.

10Day 10-Trek from MBC to Tharpu Chuli Base Camp 4400m/3-4hours,

Today, we aim to reach Tharpu Chuli Base Camp, traversing the moraines of the Annapurna Glacier. The dramatic and rugged geography in this high-altitude area offers a unique and awe-inspiring experience. As we make our way through this stunning landscape, we might encounter other trekkers and climbers on their own expeditions. We’ll spend the night at Tharpu Chuli Base Camp, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the glacier and the towering peaks.

11Day 11-Climb from Base Camp to High Camp 4800m/3-4hours,

Today's trek involves a steep and rocky climb, so it's essential to proceed with caution. As we ascend, we’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of Annapurna I (8,091m), Fishtail (Machhapuchhre), and Annapurna South (7,229m). Upon reaching the high camp, we’ll set up our tents and prepare for the climb ahead. The rest of the day can be spent practicing climbing techniques and familiarizing yourself with the equipment for the next day's ascent. We’ll overnight at High Camp, surrounded by the majestic peaks and preparing for the challenging climb to come.

12Day 12-Summit to Tharpu Chuli 5695m and back to Base Camp 4400m/6-7hours,

Today is the culmination of our journey, a day of celebration and achievement. We’ll start the summit climb around midnight, aiming to reach the top in approximately 6-7 hours. Utilizing pre-fixed ropes, we’ll navigate the challenging ascent. Standing at the summit will be an ecstatic moment, with the reward of breathtaking views over the Annapurna region reflecting the hard work and dedication of the past days. After savoring the moment and capturing some memorable photographs, we’ll begin our descent back to the base camp. We’ll spend the night at the base camp, reflecting on our accomplishment and enjoying the well-earned rest.

13Day 13-Trek from Base Camp to Deurali 3200m/5-6hours,

Today, we will retrace our steps from the base camp, trekking back to Deurali along the same route we used for the ascent. After a rewarding day of descent, we’ll arrive at Deurali and stay overnight at a lodge, giving us a chance to rest and relax before continuing our journey.

14Day 14-Trek from Deurali to Sinuwa 2360m/6-7hours,

As we descend, the trail unfolds through a vibrant array of flora and fauna, with lush forests of blooming rhododendrons adding to the beauty of the journey. We’ll pass through charming small villages, soaking in both the natural splendor and the rich cultural heritage of the region. Our day concludes with an overnight stay at a lodge in Sinuwa, where you can relax and reflect on the beauty and experiences of the trek.

15Day 15-Trek from Sinuwa to Ghandruk Village 1940m/6-7hours,

We will continue our descent today, passing through Chhomrong and making our way to Ghandruk. Renowned for its authentic Nepalese culture, Ghandruk is celebrated for its Gurung and Thakali communities. Nestled against the backdrop of Annapurna and Hiunchuli, the village offers a picturesque setting to relax and immerse yourself in the local traditions and lifestyles. We’ll spend the night at a lodge in Ghandruk, enjoying the cultural richness and stunning scenery of this charming village.

16Day 16-Trek from Ghandruk Village to Nayapul 1070m/4-5hours and drive back to Pokhara 820m/2hours and transfer to Hotel.

On the final day of our trek, we will make our way to Nayapul, where we will catch a ride back to Pokhara. Once we arrive, we’ll check into our hotel and then head out to explore the vibrant nightlife at Lakeside. Enjoy the local cuisine, and take in the lively atmosphere of the pubs and bars that add a unique charm to the city. We’ll spend the night at our hotel in Pokhara, reflecting on the adventure and enjoying the final moments of our journey.

17Day 17-Fly from Pokhara to Kathmandu 1300m/25 minutes and transfer to Hotel.

We’ll fly back to Kathmandu on a short 25-minute flight. Once you’ve freshened up at the hotel, you’ll have the option to explore local markets, sample some delicious local cuisine, and pick up souvenirs. Alternatively, you can take some time to relax at the hotel and unwind after the journey. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy the vibrant city life of Kathmandu or simply rest and reflect on your adventure.

18Day 18-Departure to International Airport or plan for next trip.
