Upon your arrival at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our staff and guide. From there, you will be transferred to your hotel located in the heart of Kathmandu. After settling into your room and refreshing yourself, you'll gather for a group briefing. This session will provide essential information about your stay in Nepal, including details about the trek, local lodges, hotels, culture, and any other pertinent information to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trekking experience.
Kathmandu, a city rich in cultural heritage and history, offers a wealth of experiences for visitors. You'll have the opportunity to explore several of the valley's UNESCO World Heritage Sites and other significant landmarks. Begin with a visit to Pashupatinath Temple, one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva, where you can witness traditional rituals and ceremonies along the banks of the Bagmati River. Next, visit Boudhanath Stupa, a revered Buddhist site and one of the largest stupas in Nepal, known for its massive mandala and vibrant surrounding atmosphere. Continue to Swayambhunath Stupa, also known as the Monkey Temple, perched atop a hill offering panoramic views of the city and a chance to observe the daily lives of local monks. Finally, explore Patan Durbar Square, a historic area renowned for its exquisite temples, palaces, and intricate Newari architecture, reflecting the rich cultural tapestry of Kathmandu Valley.
After an early breakfast in Kathmandu, you'll set out for a long but exciting drive of 5 to 6 hours to the picturesque city of Pokhara. Nestled in Nepal's Mid-Western region, Pokhara offers a warmer climate and stunning views of the Annapurna Himalaya, which are beautifully reflected in its serene Begnas and Phewa Lakes. Upon reaching Pokhara, you'll transfer to Kande, where your trek begins. From Kande, embark on a scenic hike to Potana, a charming village perched on a ridge that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. Enjoy the tranquility of Potana and take in the panoramic vistas of the Annapurna range as you settle in for the night.
From Forest Camp, the morning trek continues with a steep climb up a forested path. As you ascend, you'll reach a picturesque pastureland known as Low Camp, also referred to as Badal Danda. This high ridge offers a few simple lodges where you’ll stay overnight. Here, you can enjoy magnificent close-up views of the surrounding landscapes and mountains, setting the stage for the final ascent to Mardi Base Camp.
From the peaceful setting of Low Camp, your morning trek continues with a climb through dense forests of tall rhododendron, hemlock, oak, magnolia, and pine trees. The trail winds through this tranquil environment, offering occasional glimpses of the surrounding peaks. As you ascend, the tree line gradually gives way to short alpine bushes and shrubs, including dwarf rhododendrons, junipers, and barberry. Approaching the high ridges of High Camp, you'll be rewarded with stunning views of the towering Machhapuchare Himal, also known as "Fish Tail," and the nearby Mardi Himal. The afternoon at High Camp provides ample time to enjoy the breathtaking panorama of snow-capped mountains and dramatic landscapes. This serene vantage point sets the stage for your final push to Mardi Base Camp.
Enjoy another night at High Camp, where you’ll embark on a hike to the base of Mardi Himal. This trek follows a faint trail along the high ridge, offering spectacular views of the Annapurna Himalayan range. As you approach the base of Mardi Himal, situated directly beneath the striking peak of Machhapuchare, also known as "Fish Tail," you’ll experience some of the most breathtaking vistas of your adventure. Standing at an altitude of over 4,495 meters, you’ll be treated to unparalleled mountain scenery. After soaking in the stunning views, retrace your steps back to High Camp for your final overnight stay in the high Mardi Himal area.
On the final morning from Low Camp, begin your descent to the warmer, fertile valley of Siding village. After savoring your last moments amidst the high hills of Annapurna and Mardi Himal, the trek follows the same route for a while through dense forested areas. You’ll then switch to a new trail for a long, scenic descent to Lumre. From Lumre, continue your journey with a drive back to the picturesque city of Pokhara, where you can relax and reflect on your remarkable
After an early breakfast, embark on a scenic drive back to Kathmandu. The journey from Pokhara, which can be done by either a tourist coach or private vehicle, takes you through picturesque farm villages and towns. Travel along the Trisuli River, passing through Mugling Bazaar, and then navigate the winding uphill roads leading back into the Kathmandu Valley. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred to your hotel, where you can unwind and reflect on your memorable adventure.
On your final day in the land of the Himalayas, reflect on the incredible experiences and cherished memories of your Mardi Himal trek. After enjoying the excellent services of Nepal High Point Trekking and the warmth of your guide, you will be transferred from your hotel to Kathmandu International Airport. Our staff will ensure you reach the airport in time for your homeward flight or onward journey to your next destination.
