Seasons: **March to May and September to December** are ideal months for trekking in the Annapurna region. From March to May, you'll experience wildflowers in bloom, clear mornings for stunning views, and pleasant walking conditions. From October to December, you'll enjoy excellent visibility of the mountain scenery, though mornings and nights can be cold depending on the altitude.

Introduction:

Mardi Himal with Annapurna Base Camp and Poon Hill Trekking** offers a unique adventure through some of the most stunning landscapes in the Annapurna region. This trek combines the lush rolling hills and high mountains of Annapurna, delivering an immersive experience of local cultures and spectacular views.

Starting from the picturesque city of Pokhara, the trek leads you through verdant valleys and charming villages. As you ascend from warm, fertile fields into the high hills covered with enchanting rhododendron and pine forests, you'll first visit Mardi Himal. This area, off the main trail, provides a serene wilderness experience beneath the stunning Machhapuchare Himal, also known as the "Fish Tail" peak.

Following Mardi Himal, the route continues to the Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp. This high-altitude haven is surrounded by the towering peaks of the Annapurna range, offering a dramatic backdrop and exhilarating moments. From the base camp, the trek moves towards Poon Hill, passing through impressive farm villages and scenic woodlands.

Reaching Poon Hill, you'll have the opportunity to witness a breathtaking sunrise over a vast array of Himalayan peaks, including Dhaulagiri and Annapurna, extending towards the Manaslu range in the east. The trek concludes with a descent to the warmer lowlands and a drive back to Pokhara, where you can relax by the serene Phewa Lake.

Package plans (Itinerary)

1Day 01-Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

Upon arriving at Kathmandu International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by our staff and guide. They will transfer you to your hotel located in the heart of Kathmandu. After you’ve settled in and refreshed, you’ll join a group briefing where our guides will provide detailed information about your trek. This briefing will cover everything you need to know about the local lodges, hotels, and the rich cultural aspects of Nepal, ensuring you are well-prepared for your upcoming adventure.

2Day 02-Kathmandu sightseeing.

Explore the rich cultural heritage of Kathmandu Valley, home to numerous world heritage sites and historical monuments. Begin your sightseeing tour with a visit to **Pashupatinath**, one of the most sacred Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva. Next, marvel at the **Boudhanath Stupa**, a massive and revered Buddhist stupa that offers a tranquil atmosphere and stunning architecture. Continue to **Swayambhunath Stupa**—also known as the Monkey Temple—where you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of Kathmandu and its surroundings. Finally, immerse yourself in the historical grandeur of **Patan Durbar Square**, renowned for its exquisite Newar architecture and ancient palaces. Each of these sites provides a unique glimpse into Nepal’s rich spiritual and cultural tapestry.

3Day 03-Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara and again drive to Kande then trek to Potana.

After an early breakfast, embark on a scenic and exhilarating 5 to 6-hour drive to the picturesque city of Pokhara, nestled in Nepal's Mid-West. This warmer region offers stunning views of the Annapurna Himalaya, beautifully reflected in the serene Begnas and Phewa Lakes. Upon arrival in Pokhara, continue your journey with a drive to Kande. From Kande, start your trek towards Potana, a charming village that serves as a gateway to the breathtaking landscapes of the Annapurna region.

4Day 04-Trek to Kokar Forest camp 2,515 m via Deurali 2, 050 m - 05 hrs.

Start your day with stunning morning views of the Annapurna range before embarking on a gradual climb through the forest to reach Deurali, situated at an elevation of over 2,050 meters. From this vantage point, you'll be rewarded with exceptional views of the surrounding landscapes and mountains. From Deurali, the trail diverts from the main route, leading you into the hidden corners of the Annapurna Himalaya. The journey continues through lush, serene forested areas, ultimately arriving at Forest Camp, also known as Kokar. This charming spot, nestled in the heart of a beautiful forest, provides a tranquil environment and a cozy place to rest amidst the natural splendor of the region.

5Day 05-Trek to Low Camp 2,968 m - 05 hrs.

From Forest Camp, your morning begins with a steep uphill climb that takes you through lush terrain, leading to pastureland. This area, known as Low Camp or Badal Danda, serves as your overnight stop on the route to Mardi Base Camp. Situated on a high ridge, Low Camp offers a couple of simple but comfortable lodges where you can rest and enjoy spectacular views of the surrounding landscapes and nearby mountains. The elevated position provides a perfect vantage point to appreciate the breathtaking scenery at close range.

6Day 06-Trek to High Camp 3,710 m - 05 hrs.

From the tranquil surroundings of your current spot, the morning walk begins with a climb through dense woods, featuring tall rhododendron, hemlocks, oaks, magnolia, and pine trees. As you follow the hidden trails, the environment remains peaceful, with occasional glimpses of peaks emerging through the foliage. The trail gradually ascends, leading you closer to the mountains. The tree line eventually gives way to short alpine bushes and shrubs, including dwarf rhododendron, junipers, and Burberry. Here, you’ll enjoy striking views of the towering Machhapuchare Himal 'Fish Tail' and the nearby Mardi Himal. As you continue, the path takes you to High Camp, perched on a high ridge. After reaching High Camp, you can relax and take in the breathtaking landscapes and snow-capped mountain views that surround you.

7Day 07-At High Camp for a hike to Mardi Himal base camp above 4,495 m.

After arriving at High Camp, you'll embark on a memorable hike to the base of Mardi Himal. This journey follows a faint trail along the high ridge, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the Annapurna Himalayan range. You'll reach a viewpoint situated at the base of Mardi Himal, right beneath the striking peak of Machhapuchare (Fish Tail). Standing at an altitude of over 4,495 meters, you'll experience some of the most spectacular mountain vistas of the trek. After taking in the magnificent scenery, you'll retrace your steps back to High Camp for your final overnight stay amidst the high Mardi Himal area.

8Day 08-Trek to Low Camp - 06 hrs.

After a delightful time at High Camp, surrounded by the stunning vistas of Mardi and Annapurna Himalaya, you'll begin your return journey. In the morning, you'll retrace your steps, descending back to Low Camp for an overnight stop. This allows you to soak in the beautiful scenery one more time before continuing your trek.

9Day 09-Trek to Landruk village 1,520 m - 05 hrs.

On the final day around Mardi Himal, you'll start your morning trek from Low and High Camp, following a fresh trail through forested areas. The path gradually winds down to Landruk, a large Gurung village offering views of Annapurna South and Huinchuli peaks. This charming village serves as a great spot for an overnight stay, where you can explore local Gurung farm life and experience the traditional culture of the area.

10Day 10-Trek to Chomrong 1,955 m - 06 hrs.

In the morning, you’ll descend from Landruk via stone-paved steps down to the Modi River. After crossing a bridge, follow a pleasant trail with a brief climb past Jhinu Village. Continuing your ascent, you’ll reach Chomrong, a sizable Gurung village and the last permanent farm settlement on the way to Annapurna Base Camp and Sanctuary.

11Day 11-Trek to Himalayan Hotel

In the morning at Chomrong, you'll enjoy the breathtaking views of the Annapurna peaks. The trek starts with a descent to cross a bridge over the Chomrong stream, followed by a climb to Sinuwa. Sinuwa is perched on a high ridge and features a few tea houses and shops, where you can take a brief refreshment break. From Sinuwa, continue your walk to the Himalayan Hotel for an overnight stay.

12Day 12-Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m - 04 hrs.

After an overnight stay at the Himalaya Hotel, a short and easy morning walk will take us to Annapurna Base Camp. Unlike other base camps in the Himalayas, Annapurna Base Camp offers the unique advantage of cozy lodgings with a comfortable dining menu and rooms that provide spectacular views of the Annapurna peaks. Enjoy the stunning surroundings and the convenience of this well-equipped base camp.

13Day 13-Trek to Bamboo 2,050 m - 06 hrs.

Today’s trek involves a long descent after soaking in the stunning views at Annapurna Base Camp. We will spend over six hours descending, with a few short uphill sections, as we make our way to Bamboo for the night. Along the way, we'll transition back into dense forest and lush vegetation, enjoying the scenic beauty and tranquility of the area.

14Day 14-Trek to Tadapani 2,630 m - 05 hrs.

In the morning, our trek begins by passing through the farm village of Gurjung before crossing a bridge over the Kimrong River. We then ascend through a cool, shaded forest of rhododendron and pine trees. The trail continues, passing by cattle herders' shelters and grazing lands. After several hours of steep climbing, we reach Tadapani, a picturesque spot nestled in the heart of the forest. From Tadapani, we are rewarded with magnificent views of the Annapurna peaks, adding a breathtaking touch to our adventure.

15Day 15-Trek to Ghorepani village 2,880 m - 05 hrs.

From Tadapani, where we enjoy a pleasant overnight stay, we start our morning with a short descent followed by a climb through lush woodland to reach Bhanthati, situated on a picturesque gorge. From there, we continue our ascent to Deurali, perched on a high hill that provides excellent views of Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna peaks. After Deurali, the trek involves a short climb followed by a long descent through forests of oak, pine, and rhododendron, leading us to Ghorepani. This charming village offers spectacular views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, and the impressive Vara-Shikar (also known as Annapurna Fang). Ghorepani, populated by the Magar ethnic tribe, features blue-painted houses and comfortable lodges, and is ideally located at the base of Poon Hill, making it a prime spot for trekking and breathtaking vistas.

16Day 16-Trek to Birendrathanti and drive back to Pokhara.

On our last day in the Annapurna region, we take a few hours' drive to reach Pokhara. The journey takes us through charming farm villages and small towns, offering glimpses of rural life. Upon arrival in Pokhara, we'll settle in for an overnight stay by the scenic Phewa Lake, known for its stunning views and tranquil atmosphere.

17Day 17-Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.

After an early breakfast, you’ll embark on an interesting drive back to Kathmandu. Departing from Pokhara, the journey takes you through charming farm villages and towns. You'll follow the Trisuli River for a while, passing through Mugling Bazaar before winding uphill to reach Kathmandu Valley. Upon arrival, you'll be transferred back to your respective hotels to relax and reflect on your unforgettable adventure.

18Day 18-Depart Nepal for international flight home-ward bound.

On your final day in the Himalayan wonderland, you'll reflect on the amazing experiences and cherished memories from the Mardi Himal, Annapurna Base Camp, and Poon Hill trek. After enjoying the exceptional service provided by Nepal High Point Trekking and its friendly guide, you'll check out of your hotel. Our staff will transfer you to Kathmandu International Airport in time for your homeward flight or onward journey to your next destination.
