Your adventure begins in the fabled cities of Lhasa and Shigatse, where you'll enjoy excellent views of the Ganesh, Langtang, and Jugal Himal ranges, including Mt. Shisapangma. Crossing the Tibetan frontier at Kyirong, you’ll venture into an arid, windswept land that feels completely otherworldly.

As you continue your journey, you'll pass through charming farm villages in Yak country, ascending to the highest pass, Gyatso-la (5,220 m), to reach Shigatse. Home to the Panchen Lama, Shigatse features the remarkable Tashi-Lunpo Monastery complex, a highlight of your tour.

Next, you’ll visit the turquoise waters of Yamdrok Lake, crossing the high Khamba-la Pass before arriving in Lhasa. Here, immerse yourself in the rich history and culture with visits to the Drepung and Sera Monasteries, as well as the magnificent Potala Palace, the former winter residence of the Dalai Lama. Explore the vibrant Barkhor Square, the central hub of Lhasa, where you can witness local customs and the practice of Buddhism.

Day 1: Kathmandu (1300) -Kerung Border (145 Km) 06-07 hours' drive

Day 2: Drive Kerong to Tingri (4350M), 245KM, 07-08 hour.

Day 3: Tingri to Ronbuk

Day 4: Drive from Ronbuk to Sigatse(3900m), 344km, 9 hours.

Day 5: Sigatse-Gyantse (3,950M), 90KM, 2 hours

Day 6: Gyantse to Lhasa (3650M):261 KM

Day 7-8: In Lhasa with sightseeing tour at places of great interest.

Day 09: Drive to Gondor Airport and fly to Kathmandu - 1 hr: 15 mins flights.

1Day 01-Kathmandu (1300) -Kerung Border (145 Km) 06-07 hours' drive
Early in the morning, we begin our scenic drive to the Kerung Border, the gateway between Nepal and Tibet. The journey takes us through beautiful Nepalese countryside, offering stunning views along the way. After completing the necessary border formalities at the Nepalese immigration, we embark on an adventurous uphill drive by bus or jeep, which typically takes about an hour. In case of any landslides, we may opt for a two-hour walk uphill to reach the Chinese immigration checkpoint. Once we clear immigration, we’ll check in to our hotel or continue our drive to Kerung. You’ll spend the night at a cozy guest house in Kerung, resting up for the adventures that lie ahead.
2Day 02-Drive Kerong to Tingri (4350M), 245KM, 07-08 hour.
Today, we embark on a remarkable day drive to the highest plateau in the world, where the typical landscape evokes the feeling of being on the roof of the world. As we cross the 5,050-meter Lalunga Pass, prepare to be mesmerized by breathtaking views of the mountain range, including Mt. Cho Oyu (8,201m) and Mt. Xishapangma (8,012m), all dwarfed by the vastness of the Tibetan plateau—weather permitting. Continuing on, we will also have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of the magnificent Mt. Everest (8,848m) as we pass through Tingri/Lhatse. After a day filled with awe-inspiring scenery, we will settle in for the night at a comfortable guest house, reflecting on the stunning landscapes we've encountered.
3Day 03-Tingri to Ronbuk
Early in the morning, after a hearty breakfast, we set off for a scenic drive to Rongbuk, located about 100 km from Tingri. Upon arrival, we'll take some time to explore the area, including an afternoon excursion to Everest Base Camp (EBC). For those who prefer a different experience, horse rides to EBC are available for a fee of 100 Yuan per person. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the world's highest peak and the surrounding landscapes as we make the most of our time at this iconic destination.
4Day 04-Drive Ronbuk to Sigatse (3900m), 344km, 9 hours.
We start our day with an early morning drive, taking in the scenic views as we ascend to the highest point, Gyatchu La Pass (5,220m). The journey offers breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding landscapes. After a full day of exploration, we will spend the night in a comfortable hotel, resting and preparing for the adventures ahead.
5Day 05-Sigatse-Gyantse (3,950M), 90KM, 2 hours
In the morning, we will visit the Panchen Lama’s Tashilumpu Monastery, a significant cultural and religious site. Afterward, we’ll drive through Tibet’s largest agricultural fields towards Gyantse, where we'll explore the stunning Kumbum Stupa and Palkor Monastery. Following a day filled with rich history and beautiful architecture, we will spend the night at a hotel in Gyantse.
6Day 06-Gyantse to Lhasa (3650M):261 KM
We’ll enjoy a full day of scenic driving alongside the stunning turquoise waters of Yamadrok Lake, crossing the picturesque Khampa La Pass (4,794m) and the Brahmaputra River (Yarlung Tsangpo). This journey offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes. After a day of exploration and stunning sights, we’ll stay overnight in a hotel.
7Day 07-08-In Lhasa with sightseeing tour at places of great interest.
Today, we embark on a guided tour of Lhasa, visiting its most significant historical and religious sites. We start with a short drive to Drepung Monastery, once home to all high priests and the Dalai Lamas before the Potala Palace was constructed. Here, we'll explore the main prayer halls filled with monks in deep prayer. Next, we head to Sera Monastery, where you can witness lively debates among young monks, enhancing their understanding of Buddhist teachings. After this engaging experience, we'll break for lunch at a local Tibetan or Chinese restaurant. In the afternoon, we tour the magnificent Potala Palace, known as the 'Heavenly Realm.' This iconic structure boasts 1,000 rooms, but visitors can only access a select few of great significance. Once the residence of the Dalai Lama, it now serves as a museum and stands as a beautiful landmark in Lhasa. We'll then stroll through the vibrant Barkhor Market Square, taking time to visit the Jokhang Temple, the oldest religious site in Tibet. As the day concludes, you'll have free time for personal exploration around Lhasa before enjoying dinner.
