Dhulikhel: Arrive in Dhulikhel, an ancient Newar town with a history spanning over 500 years. Take some time to explore the town's rich culture and heritage.

Panauti

Panauti, located 32 km southeast of Kathmandu in the Kavrepalanchok District, is a charming historical city that has been listed as a UNESCO tentative site since 1996. This ancient town was once a small state given as a dowry by King Bhupatindra Malla to his sister. It is renowned for its rich cultural heritage and prominent landmarks, such as the Indreswor Temple and the Panauti (Layaku) Durbar Square, which serve as the heart of the town.

In the late 18th century, Panauti became part of the unified kingdom of Nepal, joining other historic capitals like Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur.

Your day tour of Panauti begins around 7 or 8 a.m. and lasts until approximately 4 or 5 p.m. You’ll enjoy a comfortable drive in a car or coach, accompanied by an expert guide and cheerful drivers who will enhance your experience with insights into the local history and culture. We'll start our sightseeing in Dhulikhel, where you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan range, including peaks like Manaslu, Ganesh, and Langtang. As we stroll through this charming old Newar town, you'll have the chance to explore its historic streets, traditional architecture, and vibrant local culture. Don't miss the opportunity to visit local temples and enjoy the serene atmosphere before we continue our journey to Namobuddha.
31:00 PM-Drive to Namobudda
After our time in Dhulikhel, we'll drive to Namobuddha, a serene and sacred site just a short distance away. The scenic route will take us through lush landscapes and charming villages. Upon arrival, you can explore the peaceful surroundings and visit the famous stupa. Here, you'll learn about the story of the future Buddha's compassion, as this is the site where he is said to have sacrificed his body for a starving tigress. Take a moment to soak in the tranquility of the area and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding hills.
403:00 PM-Drive to the Panauti
After our time at Namobuddha, we'll drive to Panauti, a historic town rich in culture and heritage. The journey will take us through scenic countryside, with views of terraced fields and local villages. Once we arrive in Panauti, we’ll explore its charming streets and visit notable sites like the Indreshwor Temple and the Panauti Durbar Square. You'll get a sense of the town's history and significance, as well as the unique architectural styles that reflect its Newar heritage.
504:30 PM-Drive back to Kathmandu after you enjoy the view
After enjoying the sights in Panauti, we'll head back to Kathmandu. As we drive, you can relax and take in the scenic views of the countryside one last time. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll have the rest of the afternoon free for individual activities—whether that's shopping for souvenirs, exploring more of the city, or simply unwinding at your hotel.
